Home early

It feels a bit weird being home from Dublin on a Wednesday night. To have the Community meal after the Communion service as the end of the college week is unusual, especially as there's lots happening in college this week and I'll miss the Old Testament classes tomorrow. But there's a purpose in being home and missing college.

Compassion.

Solidarity.

Drawing alongside people in their sorrow and grief. Being present with those who mourn. Seeking to support somehow in the face of terrible circumstances.

It's good that college allows us to drop everything to be with grieving friends - a good model of pastoral care, and for that I'm grateful.
