The snow is even a preacher of the gospel, as it points to the purity of the Lord Jesus (Daniel 7:9, Revelation 1:14), and the purity that is given to filthy sinners when they are cleansed by the precious blood of Jesus:
"Come now, let us reason together, says the LORD: though your sins are like scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they are red like crimson, they shall become like wool." (Isaiah 1:18)
As one hymnwriter puts it:
What can wash away my sin?
Nothing but the blood of Jesus;
What can make me whole again?
Nothing but the blood of Jesus.
O precious is the flow
That makes me white as snow;
No other fount I know,
Nothing but the blood of Jesus. Amen!
