Tonight I met up with the Reverend Adrian Dorrian, having not seen him in ages and ages, for a meal and a catch up. We also caught a film, which was 'Flags of our Fathers'. Despite it receiving mixed reviews, I thought the film was really good. You must be warned, there are echoes of the Saving Private Ryan beach scene. But the film is poignant, and makes us wonder what makes a hero. And what we make of heroes.
With some funny moments [one of which Adrian particularly enjoyed], as well as the horrific scenes, Flags of our Fathers is a great film. Although I'm glad I didn't have popcorn in front of me!
